I am guilty as charged: I have tried an AI song generator. I know many people in the arts and music communities hate AI, and i’m definitely stomping on some nerves here (with iron-toed boots, btw).
But it did make me SO happy.
Since I was a kid, I’ve been wanting to write songs and music . It’s been a dream of mine, but because of many things that went wrong in my brain as I was being created, I never really got the hang of IRL music. I can keep a really good rhythm (that’s why, when dance, I never count. I always just intuit the music and it works). Also, I’ve never had any friends with artsy backgrounds who were able to help me with my musical dreams (friends? what are those? haha). so I guess AI is the next best thing I have?
However, i am very good at writing lyrics. I’ve so far written 3 songs (two in english, one in russian) and I like it. the lyrics are mine. they wre a bit rushed because I didn’t feel like editing, but… who cares? it’s not like i’m trying to make money off these, anyway.
I am very much against stealing people’s work, but what’s done is done. That’s the past, and now it’s simply a tool that people use to get where they want to go. I went to try music, and who knows? maybe you’ll go somewhere you’ve never dared to go before too.
